Our Story

Papa La Rue didn’t start in a kitchen studio or behind a camera.

He started around live fire — competing, learning the hard way, and discovering that great barbecue has less to do with tricks and more to do with discipline.

Over time, the noise fell away.
What stayed was patience. Control. Respect for the meat and the fire.

For more than eight years, Papa competed on the KCBS circuit... came home with hardware to prove it. That's not a marketing line. That's where the rub was tested. Papa has been making the same rubs and sauce you’ll find here — not chasing trends, not reinventing them every season, and not trying to impress anyone who doesn’t care about the craft.

These days, the competition trailers are parked.
The focus is on friends, family, holidays, and weekends.

But the standards never changed.
